To effectively design social programs and policies, we need effective and diverse voices at the mic

Sometimes textbooks, models, and theories miss the mark

At Talent Poole, we’ve found that the most effective policies often come from those with first-hand experience navigating the challenges our social programs aim to address.

But many government agencies struggle with limited resources, outdated contracting mechanisms, and a lack of community trust.

These challenges lead to superficial outreach efforts that miss vital insights (at best) or policies that drain resources and harm the community they aim to help (at worst).

That’s where Talent Poole comes in.

We bridge the gap between government agencies, foundations, non-profits, and the communities they serve, ensuring that essential voices are not just heard but integrated into the heart of program and policy-making.

We know the national policies, precedents, and frameworks.

But most importantly, we have lived the reality.

Talent Poole’s biggest asset is its people. Our diverse team consists of facilitators, consultants, attorneys, researchers, and strategists. Many of us have personal experiences with the social issues we aim to address, giving us unique insights into the communities we serve.

Yes—that means we’ve spent nights on the streets when shelter wasn’t available, soothed mental illness with while navigating confusing medical systems, and done our best to transition a family member back into society following incarceration.

This blend of professional expertise and personal lived experience gives us the unique ability to approach each project with empathy and effectiveness, easily connecting with community members whose marginalization has often left them feeling alienated and suspicious of institutions.

The result is earnest, unbiased insights from those with first-hand knowledge of what works, what doesn’t, and what’s needed most from today’s social policies.
